Home For The Holidays
The Home For The Holidays benefit show was organised to raise money for the Western New York Food Bank.
After the tragedies of 11 September 2001 a lot of small charities were left out of pocket due to everyone donating to the Red Cross and Robin Hood funds, so the Goo Goo Dolls came up with this benefit show.
Tickets went on sale at $10 and a
bag of non perishable groceries!!
The groceries had to be brought to the show in
order to gain entry.
The show was due to happen on Thursday 27th December 2001 but was delayed due to a snow blizzard hitting Buffalo.
It was then set for Saturday 29th December 2001 but because of driving bans imposed throughout Western New York the show was pushed back a further day to Sunday 30th December 2001.
An online auction started on
Saturday 29th December 2002 lasting 1 week.

On Tuesday 1st January 2002 a
script from the Chris Isaak show signed and doodled on by the band and Chris
Isaak came up for auction.
The show went ahead 3rd time around
at 'Shea's Performing Arts Center' with doors opening at 7:00pm
Because of the alterations to the date of the show 'The Sheila Divine' had to drop out due to other commitments, but the were quickly replaced by two more acts 'The Juliana Theory' & 'Spirit of the West'.
The show went ahead and with the auctions, raised over $50,000 for the Food Bank!
